Next Wave of Secure Mobility for Citrix Desktop Virtualization Users

Tom Nikl, Product Marketing Manager at NComputing, says:

With the second half of 2013 well underway, the industry is, once again, beginning to formulate perspectives on what was expected of the year and what actually came to fruition when discussing desktop virtualization technologies. Perpetual budget reductions and the increasing demand for mobility infrastructure continues to plague IT departments, desktop virtualization technologies further energize the discourse over realistic solutions to meet these demands and exceed industry expectations.

NComputing is the fastest growing desktop virtualization company in the world, with more than 50,000 customers and 20 million daily users in 140 countries. We serve customers large and small, in diverse markets, and with varying use cases across education, government, and industry segments, helping to transform their use of computing. NComputing’s innovative and award-winning technology gives customers an impressively quick time-to-value, extremely high performance, and the most affordable desktop virtualization solution available today.

NComputing’s products represent technology breakthroughs as the result of our passion and focus on finding innovative ways to deliver the highest performance and quality at the lowest possible cost. Since its initial release in May 2012, the N-series has challenged the perception of what a thin client could deliver to Citrix XenDesktop®, Citrix XenApp® and Citrix VDI-in-a-Box users across industries, setting new standards for price and performance. Designed with expanded secure mobility features and available immediately, our most recent N-series software update maximizes resources and productivity for IT and end-users with a number of new performance enhancements.

My team and I have worked tirelessly to include these newest enhancements to the N-series line:

Full Support for Mobility with Enterprise-Grade Security – N-series is delivering the gold standard in secure wireless technology with WPA-Enterprise, WPA2-Enterprise and 802.1x authentication protocols over LAN and wireless LAN, hidden SSID support and more. Enhanced for healthcare organizations seeking an alternative to using unreliable, expensive and energy intensive laptops to access secure patient information from bedside computers on wheels, these security improvements will also benefit financial, government and other institutions with information security mandates.

Maximized User Productivity and IT Time Savings – The N-series now provides an easier, simpler and smarter way to manage user workloads with the addition of a new, robust firmware updating system. The new vSpace Management Center 3.3.1 enables IT to centrally manage and update N-series firmware, minimizing the time required to access enhanced workspaces and applications, so that end-users can continue to run at peak productivity.

Ability to Quickly Leverage the Latest Citrix Technologies – NComputing provides the fastest time to market for support of the latest Citrix technologies. The 1.5.0 N-series firmware includes the newest Citrix Receiver™ for Linux release (version 12.5.2) and is the first thin client to do so. The new N-series firmware also introduces official support for XenApp 6.5 Feature Pack 2 and VDI-in-a-Box 5.2. NComputing’s ability to quickly support the latest Citrix technologies ensures that IT organizations can always provide the most recent and high performing HDX experience to their end users.

With these latest upgrades, NComputing has responded to our customer’s needs and exceeded market expectations. We look forward to continuing lead the industry with innovative solutions and accelerating the global adoption of desktop virtualization.
