One Italian Internet Service Provider (ISP), Enter, recently expanded into the Sparkle Sicily Hub, which is a next-generation data center in Palermo. The new Palermo Point of Presence (PoP) provides access to the lowest latency paths from Africa to Europe, Asia and the Middle East by enabling direct interconnections to DE-CIX Palermo. Enter’s other European PoPs include Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Paris and Stockholm.
Enter is the first Italian ISP at this location. Its presence at Sicily Hub offers businesses and consumers enhanced access to enterprise-grade internet and network services such as Ethernet access, European transport, IPSec Virtual Private Network (VPN), demux and MPLS services. Customers at this location can also access Enter Cloud Suite (ECS), which is the first European, OpenStack-based cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solution.
The new PoP also expands Enter’s reach in Italy as well as into Africa, Asia and the Middle East. while also offering services to its neutral interconnection facility in Milan Caldera — a highly connected alternative to businesses looking to colcoate in Marseilles.
