According to law firm Baker McKenzie, global mergers and acquisitions hit $2.6 trillion in 2017. But based on the firm’s most recent report, the global economy is poised to shatter that number this year with a record $3.2 trillion. Much of this market activity is taking place in the telecom sector, where economic conditions and changing customer expectations have service providers looking to absorb organizations and transition away from niche offerings to offer more robust, comprehensive portfolios.

Take the case of Hylan Datacom and Electrical. Having served as one of the most trusted and well-reputed telecommunications specialty contracting service providers in New York City for nearly six decades, the organization has announced the launch of a new corporate brand, Hylan.

This strategic shift comes on the heels of Hylan’s two key acquisitions of Down Under Construction and Arcturus Telecom. These deals allow Hylan to continue providing superior service to New York City area customers, while extending its reach into additional U.S. markets with expanded capabilities. Hylan will enhance its ability to deliver engineering and design work for DAS and small cell deployments while redoubling its commitment to serving customers with turnkey data communications solutions.

Additionally, Hylan is positioning itself as a key partner for municipalities with services including electrical contracting, maintenance, utility construction and disaster recovery. Given the convergence of these offerings, it’s clear that Hylan will be well positioned to serve as a key partner for smart city applications, a market that is poised for a $2.57 trillion valuation by 2025.

In a recent announcement, Hylan CEO Robert DiLeo explained his organization’s thinking behind this new strategy.

“Our rich history in the New York market spans nearly six decades of successfully providing telecom customers with superior specialty contracting services,” Mr. DiLeo stated. “As our customers expand their operations, we are committed to growing alongside them. We are excited to grow our presence across the nation under the Hylan name, and look forward to ongoing success as we continue to provide customers with the end-to-end solutions and superior service they have come to expect since 1961.”

Following the strategic acquisitions of Down Under Construction and Arcturus Telecom, Hylan is poised to extend its reach into Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Midwest markets later this year.

Hylan’s corporate branding efforts include a new logo and website, www.hylan.com, reflecting its new identity as an end-to-end, turnkey service provider for wireline, wireless and smart city infrastructure.
