– Liat Malki, Director of Marketing, Axxana, says:

Organizations typically segment their disaster recovery service levels into tiers: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Disaster recovery planners reserve the Platinum service level – the service level with the shortest Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) – for the most critical applications. Until recently. it was simply too expensive to consider Platinum-level support for anything beyond critical applications at the largest companies. But now, with Axxana’s support for EMC VMAX, Platinum support is not only less expensive, it is better than ever.

For most companies, a Platinum service level for DR means having three data centers, two of which are within synchronous-replication distance, delivering business continuity and the fastest RTO in a single-data-center disaster. The third data center is at an asynchronous distance, which means outside a potential disaster zone in a dual-data-center disaster. But even with this Platinum support, companies can still lose data if a disaster strikes two nearby data centers. Of the eleven $1Billion+ disasters in the U.S. in 2012, 10 of them had the potential for dual-data-center disasters.

Only with Axxana and EMC VMAX with RecoverPoint can organizations deliver triple-data-center replication both within and outside the disaster zone, eliminating the risk for data loss. And because Axxana protects data during link failures, organizations can substantially reduce wide-area network costs. Yes, that’s right, the price of Platinum just went down.
