Datacenter People Group recently announced the appointment of senior executive, Mark Acton as the newest partner at Portman Partners, the company’s Executive Search division focused on C-level leadership and senior executive roles for leading firms within the sector. Founded in 2010, Datacenter People Group is the number one recruitment firm to Datacentre and Cloud organisations worldwide.
A proven leader in data centre sector, Mark brings more than 25 years of leadership experience and is keenly aware of the responsibilities of senior management. Past positions include tenure as Head of Data Centre Technical Consulting for CBRE, and Director of the Uptime Institute EMEA. He has also worked for Dell and Intel and is well-versed in the device side of data centre infrastructure.

Mark is invited to speak regularly at international events, and is a recognised advisor when technical challenges arise. Not surprisingly, he has taken an active part in the European data centre standards development process in conjunction with the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC) and British Standards Institution (BSI). He currently serves as Chair of the Best Practice Committee for the European Code of Conduct for Data Centre Energy Efficiency and is one of the authors of its EU 2018 Best Practice Guidelines. Mark is a European Engineer Chartered Engineer and Chartered IT Professional as well as being a Fellow of the BCS and IET.
