LiveOak Fiber, a regional broadband provider founded in 2022, has secured a co-investment partnership with InfraRed Capital Partners and MEAG, the Asset Manager of Munich Reinsurance Company. This new funding will support LiveOak’s mission to deliver high-speed broadband to underserved communities in Florida and Georgia.

Founded in 2022, LiveOak Fiber has quickly established itself in the broadband landscape, focusing on bridging the digital divide in the Southeast US. The company has already completed more than 50% of its planned network builds in Northwest Florida and has invested more than $200 million to construct more than 1,000 miles of fiber. The expansion effort targets communities in the Southeast which lack reliable Internet connectivity compared to many larger cities.

The implications of LiveOak’s expansion efforts aim to positively impact the communities it serves. Increased access to high-speed broadband can transform local economies, attract new businesses, and improve educational opportunities for residents.

The new investment complements LiveOak’s recent $250 million financing underwritten by J.P. Morgan, allowing the company to accelerate its expansion plans significantly. Currently, LiveOak serves residential and business customers across five counties, focusing on areas that have historically seen limited investment in fiber infrastructure.

Jody Craft, CEO of LiveOak Fiber, emphasized the importance of this funding, stating, “This additional investment reaffirms our commitment to the communities we serve. We’re not just building infrastructure; we’re investing in the future of these communities to enable economic growth and enhance the quality of life.”

As LiveOak moves forward, it aims to enhance the quality of life for thousands of individuals and families by providing essential connectivity. The company’s commitment to underserved markets not only addresses immediate connectivity challenges but also fosters long-term community development.
