Axiom - Felipe AlvarezFollowing the recent International Telecoms Week (ITW) event, which took place May 8-11 in Chicago, Data Center POST had the opportunity to speak with CEO of Axiom Fiber Networks, Felipe Alvarez, to discuss his conference experience as well as recent company news. Axiom provides telecommunications infrastructure services over its fiber network to carriers and enterprise customers in the greater New York metropolitan area, and its dark fiber, custom networking solutions and ongoing lifecycle management services are purposely designed to generate an enhanced customer experience from sale through implementation.

Data Center POST, Kathy Xu (DCP-KX) Question: Can you tell our readers about Axiom Fiber Networks and what problems your company is seeking to solve in the New York City region?

AXIOM FIBER NETWORKS, Felipe Alvarez (AXIOM-FA) Answer: Our main function at Axiom is to generate solutions that meet the growing demand for dark fiber in New York City, while filling in the gaps for enhanced connectivity. Dark fiber is not a new topic, but over the last couple of years, the community has undoubtedly been experiencing a growing demand for improved network infrastructure as customer needs evolve. A few short years ago, companies were unaware of the fact that they could operate their own networks, but as needs have changed, today’s businesses are beginning to recognize its potential value. While there is no questioning the need for dark fiber across the New York metro area, congestion within the marketplace is still a considerable challenge. What sets Axiom apart from the pack is our ability to move quickly and provide superior and customizable connectivity options with speed, simplicity and confidence.

(DCP-KX) Q: What exciting news can Axiom Fiber Networks tell us about?

(AXIOM-FA) A: As a young company of just over one year, it’s certainly been an exciting 15 months as we’ve staked our position as a driving force within the telecom marketplace. Some of our most notable recent accomplishments include the establishment of Points of Presence (PoPs) within all of the area’s major carrier hotels, signing our first client, and simultaneously developing and expanding upon our existing Partner Program. In fact, at ITW, we announced our recent alliance with LightRiver Technologies, a collaboration which will further highlight our ability to deliver highly flexible and scalable network solutions. This strategic partnership, alongside new partnership agreements currently underway, allows us to set ourselves apart as an industry leader while enabling company growth during these critical early days of our firm.

(DCP-KX) Q:  What do you hope you accomplished at ITW 2016?

(AXIOM-FA) A:We are very excited to have had the opportunity to participate in ITW 2016, as it is truly an exceptional platform for networking and education within the telecom industry. For Axiom, this year’s main focus was to promote our new partnership with LightRiver Technologies while connecting with additional potential partners. This year, there was a lot of focus on the need for enhanced bandwidth to enable multiple vertical markets including wireless, healthcare and education – just to name a few. This theme resonates with our core business as we strive to deliver scalable solutions that meet the market’s growing needs for enhanced infrastructure and fiber connectivity.

(DCP-KX) Q:  Is there anything else you would like to add?

(AXIOM-FA) A: We are very much looking forward to expanding our service offerings as well as growing a wider customer base. With a fully operational network, we’re currently experiencing a significant increase in the level of interest regarding our telecom infrastructure services. By maintaining focus on providing efficient networking solutions that are both cost-effective and high-performance, our speed, simplicity and confident approach to satisfying customers have resonated within the community and positioned Axiom at the forefront of the industry.
