Don’t wait until growth is unmanageable
The key to managing data growth is to have a proper data management and storage plan and policies in place. However this should not come about when the organization has grown to such an extent that its data and systems are so voluminous and complex that it will cost time and money to just get them in order. Small businesses must plan to manage data growth today and assess their needs as the company grows. Data management and storage should be an ongoing process that assesses the needs of the organization. Including data management and storage as part of the business model will avoid complex and costly problems in future.
