Bulk Infrastructure joined with DE-CIX, the world’s leading Internet Exchange (IX) operator and home to the largest carrier and data center neutral interconnection ecosystem globally, in announcing a major expansion into the Nordics. Bulk Data Centers, the Nordic’s leading provider of ultra-scalable, highly connected, sustainable data centers, will house DE-CIX IX platforms in Oslo, Norway (OS-IX), Kristiansand, Norway (Campus N01) and Esbjerg, Denmark (Campus DK01). DE-CIX will also be opening IX platforms in Finland.

The DE-CIX expansion to Norway, Denmark and Finland will serve the regional connectivity needs, boosted by new transatlantic and intercontinental submarine cables bridging the Nordics with North America and Asia. Partnering with  Bulk Data Centers will open the Nordics to international customers, providing 100 percent green-powered Internet Exchanges through Bulk’s data centers. DE-CIX and Bulk Data Center customers will have faster, more efficient access to global internet exchange services and provide interconnectivity into major markets in Europe, North America, and Asia. With the adoption of DE-CIX’s IX platform, Bulk’s data centers will have the capacity to equip its data center environments with increased connectivity solutions designed for the high performance workloads.

The region has seen significant growth in data center investments for the concentration of hosting, storage and cloud deployments, and a high concentration of enterprises and manufacturing presence. It is important for the related interconnection infrastructure to get closer to these investments, to serve the connectivity demands. The industry is seeing an increase in demand for low cost, highly sustainable solutions and these new DE-CIX Nordics locations are helping to support that gravity shift North.
