Sabey Data Centers is outlining the community, economic and employment benefits associated with its proposed data center campus in Decatur Township, Indianapolis, Indiana.

Planned for a roughly 130-acre site at 6400 Kentucky Avenue, the proposed campus would include two data center buildings totaling approximately one million square feet. The development would also include a new electrical substation and transmission infrastructure, with Sabey paying 100 percent of allocated costs so the project does not create additional costs for local ratepayers.

The project represents approximately $4.25 billion in projected taxable capital investment. Construction is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2027, with phased occupancy anticipated from the fourth quarter of 2029 through 2035. During the abatement period, the campus is estimated to rank as Marion County’s ninth-highest taxpayer, rising to the second-highest taxpayer after the abatement ends.

Sabey has also outlined several community commitments connected to the project. These include $5 million for updated roads in Decatur Township and nearly $25 million for a new aquatic center. The project is projected to contribute $21.9 million to Decatur Township public schools during the abatement period and $221 million over 30 years. The Marion County Library is projected to receive $2.2 million during the abatement period and $22 million over 30 years.

At full employment, the campus is projected to create and maintain 75 full-time permanent positions with average annual wages of at least $104,000 or 125 percent of Marion County’s average annual wage, whichever is higher at the time of job creation. Sabey also plans to use local union labor to construct and maintain the project.
