For performance-driven companies requiring connectivity for their mission-critical, latency-sensitive applications, location matters. Network-rich carrier hotels, providing physical connection points where Internet carriers meet and transfer data, facilitate bringing data in greater proximity to end-users, thus lowering latency and improving performance. This is why co-locating inside a carrier hotel rather than a nearby facility is critical to meeting the requirements for latency-sensitive enterprise apps.
Recently, Infomart Data Centers announced the commissioning of a new, private colocation suite within its Infomart Dallas facility. The facility is designed to maximize efficiency while also providing access to carriers as well as an Internet exchange that’s already built into Infomart’s carrier-neutral Building Meet-Me Room (BMMR). Infomart, the owner and operator of the building, offers customers $0 monthly cross-connect fees within the BMMR to enable further interconnection within the data center hub.
“Infomart Dallas is home to one of the world’s largest concentrations of carriers, colocation providers and cloud applications,” commented John Sheputis, President, Infomart Data Centers. “Given the growing value for latency-sensitive edge computing, we are delighted to add a second Infomart-operated suite within the facility. Our expansion is one of several that will be completed this year, either by our team or one of our tenants. Every new network connection and new application launched will continue to solidify Infomart’s position as one of the nerve centers for the digital economy.”
