Chief Architect and Vice President of Innovation, Phill Lawson-Shanks, to Present at OFC in Anaheim, California
EdgeConneX®, specializing in global data center solutions at the edge of the network, announces today that its chief architect and vice president of innovation, Phill Lawson-Shanks, will speak on a panel at the Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exhibition (OFC). The event takes place March 20-24, 2016 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.
On Wednesday, March 23 at 3:30 PM, Mr. Lawson-Shanks will join executives from BTI Systems, Equinix, Allied Fiber, NTT America and SUPERNAP on the panel titled, “The Global Colocation Market – Are Worlds Colliding?” The panel will explore the growth of the global colocation market and new options within the colocation data center, as well as the emerging technologies and customers driving them. Panelists will also discuss the evolution of colocation to include two types of providers: carrier-neutral colos offering space and power, and service providers offering solutions like Cloud connectivity and Cloud exchanges.
“Tenancy is no longer exclusive to traditional enterprise buyers, as content providers and CDNs enter colocation sites in more metro locations,” explains Mr. Lawson-Shanks. “The modern colocation data center has evolved into an amalgamation of enterprise, content and CDN tenants, driving the site to offer both traditional space and power as well as new service options to meet the needs of these buyers and sellers.”
