DE-CIX’s CEO, Ivo Ivanov, joined industry leaders on a panel at International Telecoms Week (ITW) to discuss the next billion users in South Asia and South-East Asia. The thought leaders explored the opportunities and challenges enterprises face in the region. The main topics discussed centered around addressing the challenges and providing solutions including government policy, infrastructure expansions, and overall enabling a digital economy throughout the region.
According to the thought leaders on the panel, there have already been over 60 million digital consumers joining the internet economy since the start of the pandemic in South-East Asia. The region’s digital economy is projected to reach $1 trillion by 2030. This rapid increase of users throughout the region means a heightened demand for digital infrastructure.
As many enterprises go through digital transformation in South Asia and South-East Asia, this critical infrastructure needs to be able to support latency-sensitive applications. According to DE-CIX CEO, Ivo Ivanov, the three pillars to success of these applications are performance, security, and reliability. Every millisecond counts. Ivanov also says, “With digitalization throughout the region, the quality of life for people will improve.”
Ivo is a technology industry veteran bringing years of experience in leading global teams, Internet ecosystem expansions and creating alignments and partnerships with data centers, network operators, and VARs throughout the world.
