More so than ever, enterprises are taking the next steps to become digitally reliant businesses. While underway prior to 2020, the pandemic formidably accelerated digital transformation as the world relied on internet communications for nearly all of their day-to-day activities. DE-CIX conducted a market survey exploring how companies’ digital transformation will continue to evolve in the coming years. The purpose was to detail how digital transformation continues to grow, with no plans to stop anytime soon.
The Survey included 200 enterprises each from Germany and the United States, both with a workforce of more than 2,500 staff and a minimum annual revenue of 250 million Euros.
Key findings of the enterprise digital transformation survey follows:
- 50 % of corporate IT managers have concerns about confidential information being exposed via security threats on the public Internet
- 80% of enterprises are experiencing an increase in performance issues with remote-working tools, like Microsoft 365
- Three-quarters of companies with a workforce of more that 2,500 employees are planning to upgrade their connectivity solutions for remote working and ERP applications within the next two years .
DE-CIX, the world’s largest carrier and data center neutral Internet Exchange operator conducted this survey with the German market research company Research in Action. The findings confirm that DE-CIX’s mission to help enterprises have better control over their critical data, including routing and pathways to ensure the most direct and private connectivity available to protect their digital assets. The key factor for improving performance and security is to connect directly – which reduces latency. DE-CIX is the IX operator to help.
