Bluewater Regional Network (BRN), an affiliate of Bluewater Power Group, a Sarnia, Ontario, Canada-based company since 1916, announces a brand new route connecting Canada to the US.  Bluewater Regional Network was created to provide a community-owned network solution to bridge the digital divide for companies in the region and beyond. In January 2021, Bluewater Regional Network announced their brand new Canada-US cross border terrestrial network, with a go live date of March 1, 2021, providing a unique and diverse path for North American connectivity

The new cross border network provides a low latency, direct connection between Toronto, ON, Canada and Chicago, IL, USA by way of a crossing that offers redundant and diverse connectivity between Toronto and Chicago with on and off ramps in Sarnia, ON; Port Huron and Lapeer, MI. BRN’s network is a new, non-incumbent route, interconnecting with other networks for easy end-to-end delivery throughout North America. As a result of its new route network operators now have the ability to design unique network solutions throughout Canada and the US.

“BRN is a part of a very well-established group of entities providing reliable and resilient services for over 100 years,” commented Chris Gould, Chief Operations Officer for Bluewater Regional Networks. “Our community-owned network was established to solve the local digital divide issues throughout the Sarnia-Lambton region, with an emphasis on a global approach to enhance connectivity to Canada and throughout North America. Headquartered in Sarnia, our region is uniquely positioned and has served as a highly traversed commercial gateway between Canada and the United States for over a century, we are excited to add to our story with this new historical network route.”
