ONUG, the voice of the Global 2000, recently announced that it is hosting an entirely virtual ONUG Digital Live (ODL) event on May 6-7, 2020. Gathering a community of IT executives and cloud practitioners, including network, solutions and cloud architects, security professionals, engineers, data professionals and more, this event will discuss building, running and securing the enterprise cloud. ONUG is the only forum dedicated to exploring vendor-agnostic use case architectures, exciting new innovations and solutions to challenges facing the enterprise in the cloud arena.

Amid concern over the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent preventative measures (such as stay-at-home policies and social distancing), the IT community’s ability to gather, discuss and educate has been severely restricted. While these measures are necessary, the impact on the business community has been profound, and virtual opportunities have become key to ensuring that event benefits can still be created despite pandemic protocols.

ONUG Digital Live focuses on topics such as automated cloud governance, cloud-native DevOps, cloud security and observability and networking/SD-WAN 2.0. The agenda features 34 keynotes, panel sessions and working groups that are presented by an extensive range of IT thought leaders. These individuals include James Beeson, VP, Chief Information Security Officer, Cigna; Don Duet, Senior Advisor at McKinsey & Co.; Gene Sun, Corporate Vice President, Chief Information Security Officer and Risk Management for FedEx Corporation, and many more.

Sessions will include:

Keynote Panel: Building Your Digital Transformation Leadership Teams, Wed May 6, 11:15 AM – 11:45 AM: Featuring Moderator Paola Saibene, Founder/Chair of the Center of Excellence for Digital Ethics, Dallas Baptist University, and panelists Abby Kearns, CEO/Executive Director for the Cloud Foundry Foundation; Shannon Lietz, Director for Intuit; and Renee Galitis, EVP and Chief Information Officer for Caliber Home Loans, Inc.

Cloud Governance & Controls – What Are They? Why Are They Important? How Can It Possibly Work with Agile? Wed May 6, 11:30 AM – 12:15 PM: Featuring Moderator Ernest Lefner, SVP Architecture and Engineering Executive for Ernst & Young, and panelists John Willis, Senior Director for Red Hat’s Global Transformation Office; Chris McCarthy, Manager at EY; Michael McKenna, Architecture Senior Director at Cigna; and John Rzeszotarski, SVP, Technology Infrastructure at PNC.

Members of ONUG leverage mutual experiences to drive innovation and facilitate success. This empowers individuals and businesses to learn from peers, make informed infrastructure deployment decisions and generate open discussion between the vendor and user communities.

“We’re honored to be able to bring the community together at such an important time when dialogue and interaction are much needed,” comments Nick Lippis, Co-Founder and Co-Chair of ONUG. “We’ll discuss how and what members are doing at the start of the pandemic and, more importantly, we’ll discuss what the path forward is. IT organizations will go through the largest transformation in over 30 years as business and digital strategy are now one and the same.”

ODL is sponsored by FedEx, United Technologies and Cigna. Other sponsors include AppNeta, Gluware, Illumio, Itential, NetBrain, Riverbed, Aviatrix, Anuta Networks and NetOne. Media partners include TechTarget, Work-Bench, DevOps.com and VMBlog.com.
