Bluebird Network LLC, a Midwest telecommunications company, recently announced that it has officially completed its acquisition of the Illinois Network Alliance (INA), underscoring its strategic focus on serving as the Midwest’s fiber partner. Now operating as the Alliance’s sole owner, this purchase enables Bluebird to expand its network footprint in Illinois and strengthen its fiber services and high-bandwidth network solutions for cell towers, hospitals, schools, government facilities and other businesses throughout the Midwest.
“Bluebird is eager to grow the INA’s state-of-the-art fiber optic network, delivering high-bandwidth, carrier-class internet and data center services across the Midwest,” states Michael Morey, President and CEO of Bluebird Network. “Underscoring our place as a leading fiber provider in the Midwest, we look forward to expanding our customer offerings and supporting them with our personalized level of service. The Bluebird Network — including the INA network — and the Bluebird Underground Data Center remain in service to actively support the needs of our customers during this time of international crisis.“
Bluebird is continuing to deliver its same levels of excellent customer service to enterprise, carrier and data center customers throughout the process of expanding its footprint through this acquisition and the subsequent fiber build outs. The company’s portfolio of network services includes secure and reliable bandwidth, Metro Ethernet, Wide Area Network Ethernet, Dedicated Internet Access, E-Line, Ethernet Virtual Private LAN (E-LAN and EVPL) and Mobile Backhaul Transport services.
Bluebird now has over 9,800 fiber route miles of high-speed broadband and fiber-optic connections with over 50,000 on-net and near-net buildings, 151 Point of Presence (PoP) sites spanning the Midwest, including the major cities of Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas City, Springfield (MO and IL), Tulsa, Peoria, Rockford, Bloomington, Normal and the Quad Cities. Bluebird’s fiber optic infrastructure connects to the Bluebird Underground Data Center, an underground colocation facility located in Springfield, Missouri.
