Data Center POST interview with Brian Cox, Chief Executive Officer, STACK INFRASTRUCTURE

As Chief Executive Officer, Brian Cox ensures that STACK INFRASTRUCTURE (STACK) offers a compelling and seamless solution to its clients. He has experience with almost every challenge encountered in the industry, bringing an understanding of growth patterns for businesses of all sizes.

Brian’s career has focused on building companies by positioning them to both earn and maintain client trust. He was most recently Chief Operating Officer of Cologix, a global data center and interconnection solutions provider. At Cologix, he was responsible for critical infrastructure, development, and commercial management, growing the business from a startup with one data center into an international platform with 25 data centers across the U.S. and Canada. He has also served as Chief Financial Officer at Cologix and, prior to Cologix, was Chief Financial Officer at i-transfer, a global financial technology company. Brian received an MBA from the University of Colorado and a BBA in Finance and Accounting from Texas Christian University. He is a former officer in the U.S. Military.

Data Center POST recently had the chance to catch up with Brian and discuss the new company, STACK INFRASTRUCTURE, and its offerings.

STACK INFRASTRUCTURE, Brian Cox (SI-BC) Answer: We built STACK from the ground up to deliver flexible critical infrastructure solutions that meet and support the complex requirements of rapidly scaling enterprise and hyperscale deployments. With unparalleled existing and build-to-suit flexible capacity in leading U.S. markets and availability zones, STACK provides the scale and geographic reach our clients need.

Data Center POST, Kathy Xu (DCP-KX) Question: Can you tell us a little bit more about your geographic footprint

SI-BC A: The one key element about the STACK platform is that we have the ability to immediately do business in six highly strategic markets – Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Northern Virginia, Portland, Silicon Valley

We have 1.5 million square feet at 110 megawatts available today and 88 acres at 160 megawatts of additional capacity. We have brought together key elements of two great historical brands to create a new company that now has a sprawling available footprint with great capacity in each of the East, Central, and West availability zones.

SI-BC A: STACK has 3 main solutions:

  1. HYPER STACK™ – Hyperscale campuses and build-to-suit data centers that enable clients to collaborate with us to address their current and future requirements, helping solve both their technical and business needs.
  2. POWER STACK™ – Powered shell options that rapidly deliver a customized data center solution, enabling speed of execution in the most important locations.
  3. READY STACK™ – Immediately available wholesale colocation and private data suites that empower our clients’ rapid server deployments with data center capacity and flexibility for growth.

SI-BC A: We have been building a team based on our core foundations of trust, experience, and partnership for our clients. Ty Miller, our CRO, is a trusted voice in the industry and leads our sales team in the execution of the Company’s growth strategy, as well as oversees all client relationship management and strategic partnership efforts. STACK’s COO, Donough Roche, has been a great partner in the industry and ensures the integrity and performance of STACK’s critical facilities across all of its locations. Rick Waddle, Senior Vice President, Construction and Development, leads the company’s construction and development efforts to address increasing client demand for the company’s HYPER STACK™, POWER STACK™, and READY STACK™ solutions. We just announced that Matt VanderZanden has joined as STACK’s Chief Strategy Officer to lead development and location strategy for STACK, and in February, Heather Paduck joined the team as Chief Financial Officer to lead STACK’s financial strategy and operations, including finance, accounting, and capital raising.
