The 2015 Technology Convergence Conference (TCC) conference keynote, titled Heartificial Intelligence – Embracing Our Humanity to Maximize Our Machines, will look at how complex technological issues are impacting our lives. The TCC takes place on February 26, 2015 in Santa Clara, California.
John C. Havens, former professional actor (Film, TV, Broadway), writer (Mashable, The Guardian, Slate), and strategic marketing consultant, will deliver this keynote and discuss how technology is impacting our lives from an ethical, economical, and emotional perspective. As humans are learning to navigate the current digital landscape, where Big Data and Artificial Intelligence are becoming mainstream, Mr. Havens will examine the traits and behaviors that make us human in order to increase our wellbeing while also benefitting from new technology. He will also discuss the important role of IT professionals in this struggle, as they are uniquely situated between technology and end users and can help them flourish through the emerging science of positive psychology.
John C. Havens is a writer, lecturer, consultant, and activist. In addition to speaking globally for clients like Cisco, Microsoft, and HP, he is the author of Hacking H(app)iness – Why Your Personal Data Counts and How Tracking it Can Change the World (Tarcher/Penguin – March, 2014). Mr. Havens is also the founder of, the H(app)athon Project, whose mission is to connect happiness to action via values-tracking surveys and emerging technology. By identifying how our actions are affecting our wellbeing, we can track the behaviors that increase our happiness as well as change the behaviors that are inhibiting it.
“I was honored when asked to give the keynote address at the 2015 Technology Convergence Conference,” said John Havens. “I believe IT professionals today serve as critically vital translators between technology and employees driving the business world. The value of Big Data comes within the context, communication, and camaraderie provided by IT experts like the ones attending the TCC.”
TELADATA’s Technology Convergence Conference focuses on providing an environment where IT, facilities and telecommunications professionals can assemble to exchange ideas and best practices relating to the latest technologies in data centers, IT infrastructure, audiovisual and monitoring systems. Expert speakers and resources offer delegates critical information and in-the-trenches tactics to deal effectively with key issues affecting facilities and data centers.
The TCC was founded on the idea of gathering industry professionals to discuss the key technological issues that we’re all dealing with. The educational sessions and frank peer conversations that take place will benefit all of the attendees as we prepare for the future technological advancements of tomorrow.
