Bluebird Network, a communications infrastructure provider and operator of two data centers and nearly 11,000 miles of fiber, continues momentum in 2023 as the company is set to bring even more fiber network expansions and densifications across the Midwest. Bluebird’s expansive state-of-the-art fiber footprint allows the company to bring dedicated internet access, Ethernet, colocation, cloud services and more to local businesses and organizations across the Midwest to enable digital transformation.

Recapping a successful 2022, Bluebird began March 2022 by finalizing its ESG roadmap. The company is developing a more structured and dynamic sustainability program, focused on achieving its goal of reaching net-zero carbon emissions by the year 2040. Months later, the company’s fiber expansion in Waterloo, Iowa went live in June 2022, adding 11.74 miles of fiber within Waterloo. In the same month, Bluebird was recognized for its accelerated innovation to keep pace with the increased digital demand to provide and strengthen connectivity for underserved communities in the Midwest with the win of the 2022 Visionary Spotlight Award for the second year in a row.

In the following months, Bluebird Network’s fiber network went live in Salina, Kansas, offering the community 13.63 new fiber route miles. These network expansions support Bluebird’s company vision, “to have a fiber presence in 80% of communities across our eleven-state footprint with a population greater than 10,000 people.”

Bluebird has shown exponential growth throughout the past year, providing and strengthening connectivity throughout the Midwest and will continue to do so in the new year.
