In a groundbreaking move, Techtonic, a prominent player in the technology sector, has announced the appointment of Avi Dadon as the Head of New Facility Deployment for their upcoming data center project. Avi Dadon, previously the Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Production and Procurement (DOPP) at Israel’s Ministry of Defense (MoD), brings a wealth of project expertise to lead the development of one of Israel’s largest and most secure data centers. We had the opportunity to sit down with Avi Dadon to learn more about his new role and the exciting project he is undertaking.

Q: Congratulations on your new role as Head of New Facility Deployment for Techtonic’s data center project. Could you tell us about your initial impressions of the project and why you decided to join?

Avi Dadon (AD) Answers: Thank you. I am truly excited to be part of Techtonic’s data center project. When I first learned about the high standards, innovative approach, and attention to detail applied in the design of the data center, I was completely convinced that this was a venture I simply had to be part of. Techtonic’s commitment to excellence and their focus on creating a cutting-edge infrastructure made it clear that this was an opportunity to contribute to a complex technological challenge. As an Israeli, I firmly believe in supporting businesses that are proudly ‘Made in Israel,’ and Techtonic’s talented Israeli team operates in an entrepreneurial and leadership-driven startup culture. Joining this innovative project and team is an honor, and I look forward to making a meaningful contribution.

Q: Your career spans 30 years of dedicated service in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and the Ministry of Defense. How do you believe your experience in the military and procurement will benefit Techtonic’s data center project?

AD Answers: My experience in the military and procurement has provided me with invaluable insights and skills that I believe will be highly beneficial for Techtonic’s data center project. Throughout my career, I had the opportunity to work on large-scale projects on a national level, which required meticulous planning, resource allocation, and precise execution. These skills are directly transferable to the development of Techtonic’s data center. Additionally, my experience in procurement has given me a deep understanding of the importance of transparency, fairness, and prioritizing national priorities. I believe these principles will be instrumental in ensuring the success of the data center project and establishing it as a prominent data center in Israel.

Q: Techtonic’s data center aims to set new standards in data center infrastructure, security, and reliability. Can you share some key features of the data center and what sets it apart from others in Israel?

AD Answers: Certainly. Techtonic’s data center is a pioneering project that combines cutting-edge infrastructure, stringent security measures, and an exceptional team of experts. It will cover an extensive area of 15,000 square meters, making it one of Israel’s largest data centers. The facility will be located underground, providing advanced physical shielding and ensuring adherence to the stringent international Uptime Institute Tier IV standard for fault tolerance, infrastructure availability, and redundancy.

What sets Techtonic’s data center apart is its comprehensive approach to security and protection against military threats. The facility will be secured against direct and long-range missile strikes, ensuring uninterrupted operations in the event of such an occurrence. Combining the redundancies of the Tier IV standard with physically isolated systems for redundant capacity components and distribution paths, Techtonic’s data center will provide unparalleled safety and reliability for data storage needs.
