Sabey Data Centers has officially broken ground on the third and final facility at its Ashburn campus in Loudoun County, Virginia. The new development, known as Ashburn A, represents a key step in the full build-out of the 38-acre site and brings substantial new capacity to one of the country’s most competitive data center markets.

Ashburn A: Scalable, Efficient, and Purpose-Built

Ashburn A will be Sabey’s first three-story data center and is designed to support a wide range of cooling configurations, including air-cooled, liquid-cooled, and hybrid environments. The facility will launch with 18 megawatts (MW) of leasable power capacity, with an additional 36MW planned for future delivery. Once complete, the building will offer 54MW of total capacity.

With a target Ready for Service date in 2026, Ashburn A is engineered for high-density deployments and can accommodate workloads that exceed 100 kilowatts (kW) per rack. The project continues Sabey’s approach to efficiency and operational excellence, with the campus currently operating at an annualized Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.35.

A Strategic Investment in Northern Virginia

Located in the heart of Loudoun County’s Data Center Alley, Sabey’s Ashburn campus is designed to meet the growing needs of enterprise, hyperscale, and cloud customers. Upon completion of this final phase, the campus will support a total of 85MW of power capacity.

“Starting construction on Building A marks a significant milestone for Sabey Data Centers as we continue to expand our presence in Northern Virginia,” said Tim Mirick, President of Sabey Data Centers. “This development will create significant additional capacity and room for our customers to efficiently and sustainably scale.”

Supporting Long-Term Growth

Sabey’s Ashburn expansion is part of a broader strategy to provide secure, efficient, and scalable infrastructure across major U.S. markets. With this new development, Sabey reinforces its long-term commitment to supporting the digital needs of today and tomorrow.
