LiveOak Fiber, an Internet services provider in the Southeast US, announced that it has activated its high-speed fiber-optic network in several new areas of Florida’s Emerald Coast. This expansion marks a pivotal moment for the region’s digital infrastructure and economic potential.

The newly connected areas include Deer Lake, Destin, Grayton Beach, Miramar Beach, Laguna Beach, Sea Grove, and Sunnyside. Residents and businesses in these locations can now access internet speeds up to 100 times faster than traditional broadband offerings.

Steve Smith, Chief Revenue Officer at LiveOak Fiber, emphasized the broader impact of this initiative: “We’re bringing more than just connectivity; we’re providing a pathway to growth, innovation, and economic development.”

In these areas, which are traditionally underserved by Internet providers, residential and business customers can harness the power of broadband Internet to enhance productivity, enable work from home capabilities, game more reliably, and attract new businesses which require rapid Internet connectivity.

This expansion is part of LiveOak Fiber’s ongoing efforts to deploy thousands of miles of fiber across Florida and Georgia. To support its buildout, the company recently secured more than $250 million in funding.

As LiveOak Fiber continues its rollout, with plans to activate additional areas in the coming weeks, the Emerald Coast is poised for a digital transformation. This development not only addresses current connectivity gaps but also prepares these communities for future technological advancements, setting the stage for long-term growth in the region.
