With virtualization and software automation becoming a central part of business IT, today’s enterprises are creating increasingly complex and converged environments in order to support growing demands. To ensure that these enterprises are achieving success with their complex solutions, managed services are also becoming commonly employed as a tool to ensure digital transformation can be backed by necessary expertise.

To meet these expectations and standards of excellence, SereneIT, a next-generation VAR (Value-Added Reseller) and IT engineering firm that helps companies design, automate and manage infrastructure for confident innovation, has built a reputation as a trusted partner in the VAR space. The company is dedicated to transforming traditional IT strategies to enable powerful, scalable, intelligent hybrid cloud solutions, offering custom managed IT services that allow businesses to either offload entire environments or just leverage support for individual aspects.

Recently, FiberLight released a case study about the role of data center connectivity in empowering SereneIT’s services — and subsequently, customers’ innovation. As a fiber infrastructure provider with more than 20 years of construction experience building mission-critical, high-bandwidth networks, FiberLight was key to helping SereneIT maintain its top-tier customer service excellence and provision its high-touch managed services.

SereneIT has servers located in some of the most secure data centers on the planet: Ascent’s facilities in Alpharetta, GA, and Houston, TX. However, the company needed to connect these facilities with fiber for maximized reliability and availability, and it needed a partner that could deliver world-class, Tier 1 levels of service. This fiber partner would quickly interconnect these facilities to create geographic redundancy, allow for highly reliable disaster recovery options and ensure a truly always-on network.

FiberLight was chosen as the company’s strategic fiber partner due to its thorough understanding of SereneIT’s commitments to customer peace of mind and its agility, which allowed the fiber to be deployed on a short timeline. FiberLight provisioned 1Gbps DIA (Direct Internet Access) for the Ascent data center in Georgia and 1Gbps for the Texas facility. FiberLight is also delivering 1Gbps of point-to-point, private line Ethernet to connect the two data centers. This deployment met immediate needs for reliability and network availability, and the partnership formed with FiberLight supports SereneIT’s vision of high-performance fiber and connectivity that can be built upon to support smart city initiatives and more in the future.

“Having FiberLight connect up gig circuits into those facilities on short order with a personalized

level of care was a huge benefit for us that other vendors weren’t offering. We were a

collaborative unit, not just another client,” comments Greg Tinker, CTO and Founder of SereneIT, Inc. “They listen, understand our business, see that we are a differentiated company in the sphere, and they’re helping us achieve that objective for both state and local government and private sector clients. As we continue to grow, and no matter how big we get, we will continue to be a FiberLight client.”
