Duos Technologies Group, Inc. held a significant press conference, sharing key advancements in its business strategy. CEO Chuck Ferry revealed that Duos has entered into a strategic partnership with a Class 1 railroad company to roll out its subscription-based railcar inspection system. Currently in production and test phases with key railroad operators, this innovative system is set to revolutionize railcar inspections. Ferry noted that Amtrak is already using the system, with Duos building two high-speed inspection systems for the rail operator. The first components of these systems, specialized Edge data centers, were in the process of being shipped during the event. These data centers will support portals capable of analyzing trains traveling up to 125 MPH, delivering actionable safety data within 60 seconds, thus enhancing rail safety and operational efficiency.
Highlighting the company’s foray into AI and data center deployment, Ferry emphasized Duos’ capability to execute large, sophisticated projects. The new developments position Duos at the forefront of the fast-growing AI and data center markets. Michael Elias, Senior Equity Research Analyst at TD Cowen, underscored this expansion, stating, “AI is driving a re-rating of the data center demand as the data center leasing seen in the last 12 months is the equivalent of adding an entire New York City to the US electricity grid.”

A key highlight of the press conference was the announcement of Duos Edge AI Inc., a new subsidiary focused on deploying Edge Data Centers to remote areas, including schools and health facilities. Doug Recker, an IT veteran and former marine, has been appointed as the President of this new venture, effective July 15, 2024.
Recker brings over 30 years of experience in telecommunications and data centers to Duos Edge AI. In his remarks, he expressed his enthusiasm for the venture’s potential to deliver high-speed connectivity and compute power to underserved communities. “I am excited to join Duos and lead Duos Edge AI. Our focus on education, healthcare, and rural industries will help drive innovation and growth, ensuring that these communities benefit from the same technological advancements as major urban centers.”
