On October 4, 2022 at 10:00 A.M., DC BLOX celebrated their groundbreaking on its new international subsea cable landing station in Myrtle Beach, SC. The new dark fiber route that is linking Myrtle Beach to the connectivity hub in Atlanta is also under construction. The CLS will be available in the second quarter of 2023 and the fiber route will be completed in the first quarter of 2024.
DC BLOX thanks all of their partners and local government officials who have helped drive the development of this digital infrastructure across the Southeast region. The rapid growth that DC BLOX has seen has allowed them to enable local businesses and communities to stay connected. Governor of South Carolina, Henry McMaster attended along with the Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightset III and the President of the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation, Sandy Davis. All of them have expressed their excitement towards this project and are embracing the future to create opportunities down the road for the communities.
