DC BLOX, a leading provider of digital infrastructure across the Southeastern United States, has announced plans to develop four new hyperscale edge node data centers. This expansion marks a significant step in the company’s strategy to meet the growing demand for digital infrastructure in the region.

The new facilities will be strategically located across the Southeast, with two in Alabama, one in South Carolina and a previously announced location in Georgia. The facilities will support power as follows:

  • Montgomery, Alabama – will initially support 5MW for a hyperscale anchor tenant, with the potential to expand up to 40MW to accommodate additional clients.
  • North Augusta, South Carolina – engineered to provide 5MW of power dedicated to hyperscale clients.
  • Huntsville, Alabama – engineered to provide 5MW of power dedicated to hyperscale clients.
  • Conyers, Georgia – will initially deliver 10MW for a hyperscale tenant, with expansion capacity of up to 120MW.

Collectively, these four edge sites will provide an initial 25MW devoted to hyperscale clients, with a total potential capacity of 160MW for additional tenants. This substantial increase in capacity positions DC BLOX to meet the surging demand for edge data services in the Southeast.

In addition to the data centers, DC BLOX is constructing a dark fiber ring around metro Atlanta. This network enhancement will enable regional connectivity from the Atlanta East campus in Conyers, Georgia and provide global access through DC BLOX’s regional fiber backbone, which connects to the Myrtle Beach cable landing station.

This comprehensive approach to infrastructure development aligns with DC BLOX’s strategy of delivering scalable, efficient digital infrastructure solutions across the region.
