Region 16 Education Service Center (ESC), Duos Edge AI, Inc., a subsidiary of Duos Technologies Group, and FiberLight are set to unveil a state-of-the-art Edge Data Center (EDC) on March 18, 2025. This innovative facility promises to revolutionize connectivity, education, and economic growth in the region. The grand opening event, scheduled from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM CT at Region 16 ESC, 5800 Bell Street in Amarillo, TX, will showcase the technology housed within the new EDC and include a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Industry leaders and experts will be present to share insights on edge computing, AI, and the impact of this facility on development in the region, particularly for schools and businesses. Speakers will include Doug Recker, President and Founder, Duos Edge AI; Chuck Ferry, Chief Executive Officer, Duos Technologies Group and New APR Energy; Ron Kormos, Chief Strategy Officer, FiberLight; Tanya Larkin EdD, Executive Director, Region 16.

This EDC represents a significant leap forward in bringing advanced computing capabilities closer to where data is generated. With the ability to provide over 100 kW per cabinet and rapid 90-day deployment, the center aims to position itself within 12 miles of end users or devices. This proximity enables real-time processing of massive amounts of data, supporting applications that require immediate response times. As a Tier 2 facility with total SOC Compliance, the EDC will interconnect major carriers, provide scalable IT infrastructure, and deliver stable and fast internet connectivity. These features are expected to aid students and could further economic growth by offering enhanced connectivity and computing capabilities to local businesses.

The impact of the facility extends beyond technological advancement, serving 60 school districts and three charter schools across 226 campuses. The EDC is set to directly benefit more than 83,000 students in the region. By expanding digital access for schools, Duos Edge AI aims to bridge the digital divide in rural communities.

As the Texas Panhandle prepares for this technological leap, the unveiling of this EDC is a major step towards ensuring that underserved communities can enjoy the same level of access to opportunities as urban areas, minimizing delays and enhancing the quality of service throughout the region, leading to both educational and economic development. The grand opening event on March 18 is not just a celebration of a new facility, but a glimpse into a future where advanced technology and education go hand in hand, driving progress and prosperity in the region.
