Bluebird Network LLC, a Midwest telecommunications company, recently announced the completion of its 21-mile fiber infrastructure expansion in Joplin, Missouri. The expansion connects local government, health facilities, schools, wireless towers and businesses to their other locations, to the internet and to the Bluebird Underground Data Center – an underground colocation facility located in Springfield, Missouri. Delivering these fast, high-quality fiber-based internet and transport service options to this location continues Bluebird’s trajectory of constant growth and underscores its core commitment to rural communities.
This completed build comes shortly after Bluebird’s acquisition of the Illinois Network Alliance (INA), supporting the further expansion of its footprint and service capabilities with a strategic focus on the Midwest. Today, Bluebird Network now leverages more than 9,800 fiber route miles of high-speed broadband, serving as a leading Midwest internet partner to businesses as they evolve to meet new digital requirements.
The Bluebird network supports 10Mb to 1Gb, 10Gb or even 100Gb connections and features more than 151 Point of Presence (POP) sites throughout major cities in the Midwest. The company offers a robust network product suite with key enhancements to provide world-class levels of service, expand business climates and bring new opportunities to Midwestern businesses and communities. These services include reliable bandwidth, Metro Ethernet, Wide Area Network Ethernet, Dedicated Internet Access, E-Line Services, Ethernet Virtual Private LAN Service (E-LAN) and Mobile Backhaul Transport services.
“Fast internet is a necessity in this digital era, and we’re excited to continue rapidly responding to demand, further enhancing our offerings and services for existing customers and expanding into new and burgeoning areas to deliver these vital capabilities,” says Michael Morey, President and CEO of Bluebird Network. “This Joplin build serves as yet another exciting achievement in service of those goals and in support of the requirements of our customers’ growth, and we look forward to helping this community thrive.”
