Bluebird Network, a Midwest telecommunications company, recently announced the completion of a new fiber build in Weldon Spring, MO. The expansion project area, northwest of St. Louis, was originally announced back in May of 2018. This new fiber-optic network installation connects major commercial areas and brings reliable, high-speed broadband service to the communities of Weldon Spring, Dardenne Prairie and Cottleville, Missouri.

The expansion in Weldon Spring supports Bluebird’s commitment to providing a robust fiber footprint to communities in St. Charles and St. Louis counties. The expansion of Bluebird’s Missouri Network meets customer demand for reliable high-capacity broadband. Those businesses within these counties will now enjoy easy, carrier-class network access, speeds and bandwidth.

“Weldon Spring provides a vibrant and expanding center for business development in the outer core of St. Louis,” states the President and CEO of Bluebird Network, Michael Morey. “Bluebird is delighted to bring our fiber even closer to this expanding business center to support growth and economic opportunity for area businesses.”

Bluebird is dedicated to densifying existing fiber routes while also expanding its fiber reach into new and underserved areas. Services carriers and enterprises over its 6,500 fiber route miles of high-speed broadband, connect customer locations to each other, the internet or its underground data center. Additional upcoming densification projects are planned throughout the Midwest over the next few years.

Headquartered in Columbia, Missouri, Bluebird Network was formed by integrating Bluebird Media, the Missouri Network Alliance, and the Illinois Network Alliance. In 2014, the company acquired an underground data center, and created their unique Bluebird Underground data center, and added a data center facility to the Bluebird suite of services. Today, the network has over 6,500 fiber route miles of high-speed broadband and fiber-optic connections, and over 135 Point of Presence (PoP) sites in major Midwest cities and includes five locations inside of St. Louis. Bluebird Network’s superior product suite utilizes key enhancements to provide premium level service.

“The Bluebird Network team takes pride in providing cutting-edge services to many different businesses, including hospitals, government agencies, banks and other industries,” adds Mr. Morey. “Our agility and reach have enabled us to rapidly deploy new fiber network services and products as we continue to expand our service in Missouri, Illinois and the surrounding states.”
