TL;DR:
- A new pan-European data center design and engineering group has entered the market.
- Hyceon, formed from the merger of TTSP HWP and MCA Architects, brings together more than 270 professionals and experience across over 10 GW of data center capacity under one unified organization.
- Its launch reflects a broader shift in how large-scale digital infrastructure projects are being delivered across Europe, at a moment when demand for AI-ready facilities is outpacing traditional project models.

Frankfurt and Dublin-based Hyceon officially launched this week as the unified entity of two long-established firms, TTSP HWP and MCA Architects. The move completes a merger first announced in December 2025 and marks the arrival of a new pan-European group focused specifically on data center design, engineering, and advisory services.
The timing is notable. Europe’s data center sector is in the middle of a build-out driven by cloud computing and artificial intelligence, and the scale of that demand is reshaping what clients expect from their design and engineering partners. Hyceon’s launch is one of the clearer signals yet that the market is consolidating around firms capable of managing a project from concept through completion, rather than handing it between specialists at each stage.
What the Combined Group Looks Like
Under CEO Alexander Hauser, Hyceon operates from six offices across Germany and Ireland, Frankfurt, Dublin, Stuttgart, Cologne, Berlin, and Düsseldorf, with additional delivery offices in Budapest and Kuala Lumpur supporting projects across the continent. The group brings together more than 270 professionals working across architecture, engineering, master planning, and project management.
Combined, the two founding firms have worked on data center projects representing more than 10 GW of capacity and have carried several hundred schemes through the permitting process. That track record spans five years of prior collaboration between TTSP HWP and MCA Architects, during which their joint data center work already represented over a gigawatt of capacity for hyperscale and colocation clients. The new structure formalizes what had effectively been a working partnership into a single organization.
Why One Point of Accountability Matters Now
Large data center projects typically involve a long sequence of distinct phases: site selection, feasibility studies, permitting, master planning, architecture, engineering, and eventually construction oversight. When each phase is managed by a different firm, coordination gaps can slow projects down or create costly rework later.
“Our clients are building at a speed and scale Europe has not seen before, and they are looking for partners who can carry a whole project rather than a piece of it,” said Hauser. “Hyceon gives them one team and one point of accountability, from site selection to handover.” That structure is particularly relevant as European regulation grows more specific. Germany’s Energy Efficiency Act, for example, introduces tightening PUE and heat-reuse requirements for facilities commissioned from July 2026 onward, standards that are far easier to meet when efficiency planning is built into a project from its earliest stages rather than layered on afterward.
A Signal for What’s Ahead
Hyceon’s launch adds a new, sizable player to a European data center market that continues to attract hyperscalers, cloud providers, colocation operators, and infrastructure investors. As Managing Director Brian Murphy noted, the group intends to expand its footprint alongside its clients: “As our clients expand into new and existing regions, they need partners who can provide the same high standard of service wherever they go.”
For an industry navigating rapid AI-driven growth alongside increasingly detailed regulatory requirements, Hyceon’s formation illustrates a broader pattern worth watching: The firms best positioned to support Europe’s next wave of data center development may be the ones built to manage the entire project, start to finish, rather than a single piece of it.
