For more than a century, Nebraska has been an important part of Rightfiber’s story. Now, the fiber provider is expanding that presence as it enters its next chapter of growth.
Rightfiber, formerly Great Plains Communications and a portfolio company of Grain Management, has completed its acquisition of Fastwyre Broadband’s Nebraska business, bringing 26 additional communities across the state into its growing network.
With the deal done, former Fastwyre customers in Nebraska are now part of one of the nation’s largest independent fiber broadband providers. Rightfiber’s network spans more than 28,000 route miles of fiber across 20 states and supports over 300,000 Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) passings.
For customers, the focus now shifts to the transition. Rightfiber has begun integrating Fastwyre’s Nebraska operations and will continue communicating with customers about products, services, billing and future enhancements.
“We’re excited to welcome Fastwyre’s Nebraska customers and employees to Rightfiber,” said Heath Simpson, Chief Executive Officer of Rightfiber. “We look forward to serving these communities with reliable connectivity, responsive local support, and the customer-first experience that define Rightfiber. Our focus is on making this transition as seamless as possible.”
The acquisition also builds on a history in Nebraska that stretches back more than 115 years. While the Rightfiber name is new, the company’s connection to the state is not.
“Nebraska has been an important part of our story for more than 115 years, and completing this acquisition reinforces our long-term commitment to the communities we serve across the state,” said Todd Foje, Executive Chairman of Rightfiber. “We’re excited to build on that legacy by strengthening our relationships across Nebraska and continuing to support the people, businesses, and communities that have been the foundation of our success for generations.”
That combination of history and growth helps put the acquisition into perspective. Rightfiber is expanding the scale of its network while building on an established presence in Nebraska. As Rightfiber continues its next chapter, the Fastwyre acquisition represents another step in that evolution: expanding the network, welcoming new communities. and carrying its Nebraska legacy forward under the Rightfiber name.
