Thousands of miles of ocean separate Asia Pacific and North America, but the digital infrastructure connecting the two regions ultimately comes down to a critical transition point: where subsea cables reach land and connect to the terrestrial networks that carry data onward.

In Los Angeles, Assured Communications is helping build a new piece of that global connectivity ecosystem.

The subsea infrastructure specialist is supporting the design, engineering and construction of a new cable landing station at Digital Realty’s LAX12 data center. The project is designed to establish a new landing point for subsea cable systems while bringing subsea infrastructure closer to the terrestrial networks serving the Los Angeles market.

For Assured Communications, the project puts its experience in subsea cable systems and landing infrastructure development to work on infrastructure designed to support connectivity across the Pacific.

By bringing these resources together, the CLS will help create closer integration between subsea and terrestrial networks, giving carriers, cloud providers and content platforms additional routes and greater flexibility to connect between Asia Pacific and North America.
