PowerBridge has announced a strategic joint venture with Liberty Energy to combine powered campus development with integrated power generation. The partnership brings together PowerBridge’s powered campus platform and Liberty Power Innovations’ operational expertise to support the delivery of gigawatt-scale powered campuses.
The joint venture will initially support the planned 2 GW Alpha Digital Campus in West Texas. The campus is expected to include more than 300 megawatts of generation capacity during its first phase, with initial power delivery anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2027 and continued deployment through the first half of 2028. Beyond this first project, the partnership establishes a framework for future powered campus developments across PowerBridge’s growing portfolio, with a commitment to working alongside local communities to create long-term economic opportunities and support workforce development.
The joint venture is designed to provide customers with an integrated solution that simplifies execution while reducing uncertainty around infrastructure readiness and power availability. PowerBridge will continue to lead campus development, including site infrastructure and regional fiber connectivity, while Liberty Power Innovations will design, develop, and operate the modular power generation systems that support each campus.
“We are delighted to partner with Liberty as we execute our powered campuses at gigawatt scale,” said Alex Hernandez, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of PowerBridge. “PowerBridge was founded on the premise of driving and solving the accelerating convergence between energy and digital infrastructure. Our mission is to serve our digital infrastructure customers with an integrated powered campus solution while building new power generation assets that strengthen grid reliability. By aligning our powered campus development assets with Liberty’s comprehensive power services and operational expertise, we are creating a model that can be scaled across future gigawatt-scale powered campuses in West Texas.”
Liberty Energy views the partnership as a response to changing customer expectations for digital infrastructure delivery.
“The most sophisticated customers are increasingly seeking partners that can simplify the delivery of large-scale digital infrastructure projects,” said Ron Gusek, Chief Executive Officer of Liberty Energy. “As power availability becomes a defining factor in data center development, customers need integrated solutions that align power generation, energy management, and campus infrastructure planning from the outset. With PowerBridge, we are helping customers secure reliable power faster and more efficiently, supporting the accelerating growth of AI and digital infrastructure.”
As demand for AI-ready digital infrastructure continues to grow, this joint venture positions PowerBridge and Liberty Energy to deliver an integrated development model that brings together power infrastructure and digital campus development under a single strategy. The result is a platform designed to accelerate deployment while providing customers with greater confidence in project execution and infrastructure readiness, while working alongside local communities to support workforce development, create long-term economic opportunities, and responsibly develop the infrastructure needed to power the digital future.
