Colovore has appointed Jeffrey Springborn as its new Chief Executive Officer. Jeff brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in the data center, cloud, and energy sectors. He joins Colovore as the company is expanding its network of liquid-cooled, high-density data centers to meet the growing demands of modern computing.
The way companies use data centers is changing. Artificial intelligence and accelerated computing are placing new demands on infrastructure. These workloads require far more power and generate much more heat than traditional enterprise applications. Many existing data centers are reaching the limits of what their air-cooled designs can support.
Colovore’s data centers are designed for this new generation of computing. By using liquid cooling, the company can support rack densities from 50 kilowatts to more than 300 kilowatts. This enables customers to run advanced hardware that would not be possible in a traditional facility. It also allows them to locate this infrastructure closer to users and data, which is important for latency-sensitive applications such as AI inference.
Under Jeff’s leadership, Colovore is expanding in key U.S. markets. In addition to its existing facility in Silicon Valley, the company is developing new sites in Reno, Chicago, and Austin. Additional markets, including New York and Seattle, are under evaluation.
Jeff steps into the role following a $925 million financing round secured to support this expansion. The company’s financial backing allows it to bring new capacity to market quickly. Many customers are already planning several years ahead, reserving infrastructure in advance to avoid future shortages.
“Companies are seeing that their future computing needs will look very different from today,” said Jeff. “AI models are getting larger, hardware is becoming more demanding, and the data center infrastructure to support this needs to evolve just as quickly. Colovore is focused on building for where the market is headed.”
Jeff brings deep experience in operations and compliance, having previously served as President of LightEdge Solutions and CEO of Best Energy USA. His focus will include ensuring that Colovore’s facilities meet the rigorous standards required by enterprise customers while continuing to advance energy efficiency and sustainability goals.
Colovore uses closed-loop liquid cooling systems and is actively exploring ways to reuse heat generated by its data centers. As the company expands, it remains committed to engaging with local communities and addressing the broader impacts of infrastructure development.
With Jeff now leading the team, Colovore is well positioned to support customers as they navigate the changing landscape of data center requirements.
