DC BLOX, a leading provider of digital infrastructure across the Southeastern United States, has announced strategic leadership changes to accelerate its growth amid rising demand for hyperscale, enterprise, and network solutions. Greg Carender, a veteran in global data center development and green energy infrastructure, joins as Chief Operating Officer (COO), while Mark Masi has transitioned to Chief Development Officer (CDO).

Carender brings over two decades of experience to the role, most recently serving as COO of AdaniConneX, a joint venture between Adani Group and EdgeConneX. His prior roles also  include spearheading hyperscale campus deployments at EdgeConneX across four continents and managing large-scale projects at PwC, including nuclear facilities and mixed-use developments. As COO, Carender will oversee data center engineering, network operations, fiber development, and security, among other functions.

Carender has expressed enthusiasm for the position while emphasizing DC BLOX’s strategic vision: “With its strategic footprint, ambitious pipeline, and unique positioning to meet the rising demand for hyperscale, enterprise, and network infrastructure, DC BLOX has the right ingredients to become a dominant force in digital infrastructure across the Southeast. I’m excited to help accelerate this momentum, scale operations, and deliver world-class digital solutions to our customers and communities.”

Meanwhile, Mark Masi, previously instrumental in DC BLOX’s expansion, will focus on land acquisition, energy procurement, and strategic partnerships as CDO. Jeff Uphues, CEO of DC BLOX, looks forward to the new leaders’ contributions: “With Greg and Mark in these key positions, DC BLOX is well-positioned to scale our infrastructure and deliver greater value to our customers and communities.”

This leadership team expansion comes as DC BLOX expands its footprint in the Southeast.  With these appointments, DC BLOX aims to solidify its position as a regional powerhouse, combining operational rigor with strategic development to meet the digital infrastructure industry’s evolving needs.
