DC BLOX, a provider of multi-tenant data centers, dark fiber, and connectivity solutions, announced that Edge Cable Holdings USA, LLC will be landing a subsea telecommunications cable at their Subsea Cable Landing Station (CLS) in the International Technology and Aerospace Park (iTAP) in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
DC BLOX broke ground in October 2022 on their Myrtle Beach Cable Landing Station (CLS), creating a key connectivity access point for Southeast markets. Partnering with proven fiber optic manufacturer OFS will allow DC BLOX to provide Edge Cable Holdings with state-of-the-art fiber cabling. The station is slated to be operational in June 2023.
Edge Holdings’ trans-Atlantic subsea telecommunications cable, the Anjana cable, will run 7,121 kilometers and link Santander, Spain, to the CLS in Myrtle Beach. It is capable of carrying 480 Terabits per second of data communications traffic and will connect into DC BLOX’s wider North American telecommunications network. The cable will be live in 2024. This is the second communications cable DC BLOX has landed in Horry County.
DC BLOX touts Tier III-designed data centers, as well as dark fiber and connectivity solutions. They are currently executing a 500-mile dark fiber route that will be the first high-capacity East-to-West fiber path from South Carolina to Georgia, as well as their 15 megawatt CLS which will be a vital connectivity hub.
