Within the first year of Quantum Loophole’s land acquisition announcement, construction on the Quantum Frederick data center development site began in June 2022. The ceremonial groundbreaking consisted of dignitaries and industry luminaries planting trees at the site, while mature trees were relocated to create a more environmentally appealing view point. Since then, onsite construction work for the sewage system, water, underground power facilities, network conduit rings and removal of materials from the site is well underway.
Quantum Loophole, an innovative developer of first-of-their-kind Gigawatt-scale master planned data center communities, has selected the data center construction specialist team of STO Mission Critical to manage the development of Quantum Frederick, Quantum Loophole’s new data center development site in Frederick, Maryland.
The STO Mission Critical team is currently overseeing the initial infrastructure phase of the over 2,100-acre, master-planned site. This phase involves the development of parcels, roadways, sewer, water, and fiber infrastructure to support the data centers that will comprise the community. The first construction activities are scheduled for October 2022 and include water and sewer infrastructure with plans to access Frederick County’s ample recycled water supply as demand grows.
