DE-CIX, one of the world’s leading Internet Exchange (IX) operators, recently announced that DE-CIX Dallas, the largest Open-IX certified exchange and the first data center-neutral IX in Dallas, extended its network with a new switch in DataBank’s downtown data center. The new Point of Presence (PoP) is located at 400 South Akard and enables networks colocated in DataBank’s multiple facilities in the Dallas area to directly connect to DE-CIX Dallas. This, in turn, empowers reach to over 60 networks and offers entities in the Dallas market the ability to connect to a major peering exchange while remaining fully diverse from 1950 N. Stemmons.
“DE-CIX Dallas is committed to providing network operators in the Dallas metro market the greatest number of interconnection options,” comments Ed d’Agostino, Vice President and General Manager of DE-CIX North America. “We’re excited to be expanding and adding a great new partner like DataBank. Our partnership provides the market with a new and ideal diverse solution and offers a great place for single-site networks within the Dallas market to connect to a world-class peering exchange. Networks of all types, including those that are looking for diversity from Infomart, will find an excellent new home for their equipment with DataBank.”
“This partnership with DE-CIX enables our customers to leverage connections to a leading carrier-neutral platform with the most cost-effective and efficient interconnection options available in the market,” adds Raul K. Martynek, CEO of DataBank. “As a result, DataBank now provides an ideal location for customers seeking diversity from facilities like 1950 N. Stemmons. In addition to our downtown location, networks can also access DE-CIX Dallas from our Richardson and Plano data centers.”
DE-CIX Dallas provisions interconnection capabilities throughout multiple data centers and delivers access to over 60 networks across its world-class carrier and data center-neutral platform. Network operators can leverage cost-effective connection to the IX with a standard cross connect at any of a growing number of data center facilities in the local market. Plus, networks throughout the entire Southwest that are currently lacking a presence in Dallas can connect to DE-CIX over transport connections to benefit from peering and enhance their connectivity throughout the region.
“DataBank, being a Dallas-based company with three data centers in the metro area, is an ideal partner for DE-CIX as we expand and strengthen our coverage and enhance diversity and redundancy solutions throughout Dallas and beyond,” continues d’Agostino. “We look forward to seeing this collaboration benefit network operators throughout the Southwest region.”
DE-CIX North America also operates DE-CIX New York, the region’s largest neutral IX, which features access to over 220 networks. For more information about DE-CIX North America and its New York and Dallas Internet Exchange platforms, visit https://www.de-cix.net.
