When complete in late 2017, the new facility will expand the firm’s footprint at its campus in Ashburn, Va., to about 650,000 square feet and 44 megawatts.

Ashburn, Va.—RagingWire Data Centers and its parent company NTT Communications are planning to invest $160 million in building a third data center in Ashburn. The upcoming 245,000-square-foot VA3 Data Center has been unveiled at the Gartner Data Center Summit in Las Vegas and represents phase one of the development of RagingWire’s Data Center Campus, a 76.5 acre site that will accommodate six buildings.

The VA3 is scheduled to open by the end of 2017 and joins the VA1 and VA2 Data Centers, which are also located in Ashburn. VA3 will offer customizable private suites available in 2 MW and 4 MW increments, dedicated infrastructure options including patented 2N+2, N+1 and 2N configurations, high-security gated entrance with an anti-climb perimeter fence, Class A customer office space, 24×7 in-house security staff for shipping and receiving and world-class customer amenities including lounges, a break room, a game room, a gym, locker rooms and showers and conference rooms.
